Savanna Single Casks are rare as well. More than a year after the premiere, we were finally able to secure a new single cask bottling exclusively for the German market. With the Savanna 10 y.o. Cognac Cask, one of the finest rums from the distillery's cellars finds its way to connoisseurs. Distilled from molasses in the C20 Column Still, it matured for a full decade in the climate of the tropical island. In the end, 640 cask-strength bottles could be filled from the French oak cask. The sugarcane paradise of La Réunion is home to the Savanna distillery. Where the tall sweet grass thrives on fertile soil, the distillery has been handcrafting it into authentic rum varieties since 1870. In the form of both freshly pressed juice and molasses – a rarity for distilleries in the French overseas departments.

La Réunion is one of the French overseas departments, just like the two much better-known rum islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. One of the island's best-known rum producers: Savanna. This single cask bottling comes from exactly there.

In the sugarcane paradise of La Réunion, the Savanna distillery has been producing by hand rare, authentic rum. Unusual for a distillery in the French overseas departments, it processes fresh sugarcane juice as well as molasses. Free from any additives and not chill-filtered, Savanna rums reveal complex aromas, bearing witness to the wild beauty of the island.   The portfolio includes unaged premium qualities for varied drinks as well as cask-aged rums, especially from Cognac casks. For a limited range of aged rums, Savanna collaborates with contemporary artists from La Réunion, whose creative power mirrors that of a master blender.
