BARBADOS RUM 1998 The island got the name Barbados from its Portuguese discoverer Pedro Campos, who thought the drooping roots of the fig trees reminded him of beards. Anyone who has even a little experience with rum will immediately think of three special features of the island: first, the oldest still existing rum distillery, Mount Gay, from 1703. Second, the legendary Rockley Style bottlings from the years 
1986 and 2000. And third, the uncompromising work of Richard Seale at his Foursquare.
