This single cask rum is first matured in an ex-bourbon cask before receiving its finish in an ex-Pineau des Charentes cask and an ex-Ferrand cask. The rum has aromas of wood, spices, and fruit, especially apricot, with a slight floral note. On the palate, notes of pineapple, plum, sour cherry, and cooked apple appear, along with a hint of hyacinth. The Plantation Guatemala XO Reserve Pineau des Charentes Cask Finish Rum was distilled in the column stills of the Distillery of Alcohols and Rums and then matured for several years in former bourbon casks in a tropical climate. The rum was then finished by aging for one year each in ex-Ferrand and ex-Pineau des Charentes casks in France. Finally, the spirit was bottled in 2018. The label includes information about the cask number, ester content, and even the fermentation time.

This Plantation rum has an incredibly well-balanced bouquet characterized by oak, spice, and fruit. Gradually, you can detect the aroma of apricot with floral notes.

On tasting, the rum is full-bodied, with flavors of pineapple, plum, and sour cherry.

The finish is very long, spicy, and fruity with hints of cooked apple and hyacinth.

The Plantation Single Cask Rums are limited editions of double-matured Haute Couture rums. These fine spirits are first matured in former bourbon casks in a tropical climate before receiving their finish in ex-Ferrand casks made of French oak. This takes place in the southwest of France. Alexandre Gabriel, who was named the world's best Master Blender in 2012, always carefully selects the casks for the finishing process. Most of them previously held wine, another type of spirit, or even beer. The type of cask used is chosen individually for each rum to highlight its unique character. Only a few versions of Plantation rums are produced each year, making them true collector's items.
