This unique range brings together rare single malt Scotch whiskies influenced by the wild natural world and matured in casks whose wood can tell the story of a truly adventurous journey. The result is absolutely unique whiskies that celebrate the wild elements of this rugged land where the Talisker distillery has stood for almost 200 years.

TALISKER FORESTS OF THE DEEP The second whisky in this adventurous range is the Talisker 44 Year Old Forests of the Deep, matured for over four decades and finished in charred casks. The fire for this charring process came from old oak driftwood and sustainably harvested seaweed - a true deep-sea adventure and the perfect embodiment of Talisker's guiding principle "Made by the Sea".

In support of Parley - Our second release in partnership with Parley for the Oceans takes us 3 fathoms deep into the kelp forests off the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. An initiative to raise awareness for the protection and preservation of 100 million square meters of sea forest.

Serving suggestion: Best enjoyed neat with a drop of water, the 44-year-old Talisker reveals these gentle, rich aromas from the deep. This softens the long-lasting finish and brings out a sweeter taste with a smoky note, while still retaining a peppery Szechuan spice. In 1825, brothers Hugh and Kenneth McAskill rowed north from the Isle of Eigg across the Sea of the Hebrides to acquire Talisker House on the dramatic coast of the Isle of Skye. For almost 200 years, this distillery has proudly stood by the sea, embracing the elements in a land of extremes that inspires this whisky. The Talisker Expedition Oak Series is a completely new adventure: the mission is to create a whisky shaped by nature. The series was born to celebrate wild whisky-making with a collection of rare single malt Scotch whiskies shaped by the natural elements - finished in casks with staves stressed by a wilderness journey to reveal a truly rare and unique whisky, accentuated by its exposure. For its second adventure, Talisker joined forces with Parley's "Rewild Our Seas" initiative to create a limited edition of rare 44-year-old whisky. Thus, Talisker 44 was specially refined in flame-charred casks heated by a blend of weathered oak - sourced from one of our ocean adventures - and sustainably harvested seaweed.
