Nose : dates, apricots, honey, lemon thyme.

Palate : fruity nuances, pineapple banana, cinnamon, clove, ginger

Finish : leather and oak notes emerge.

This Barbados rum was  produced in 2002 in the pot still of the well-known Foursquare Distillery  from molasses.  It was then matured  for a full 20 years  in  a continental climate in a cask made of American white oak.  

This Barbados rum has a pale golden amber color with deep aromas of dates, apricot, honey, and lemon thyme. With a warming, slightly tingling texture, the fruity pot still notes of pineapple and banana come through, while the mid-palate is defined by baking spices, cinnamon, clove, and ginger. The wood influence reveals itself in the finish with notes of leather, varnish, and herbal oak.

History of the cask
A truly unique expression of Foursquare Rum, one of the few pure pot still rums of this age from Foursquare. The rum was distilled in 2002 and then filled into an American white oak cask in which the distillery had previously stored American whiskey. The cask was immediately shipped across the Atlantic to the United Kingdom to mature continentally in the historic docks of Liverpool. Continental maturation results in less liquid being lost through evaporation and less contact with the oak.
