For it, master blender Gabriela Ayala blends three kinds of rums from the private cellars of Ron Cihuatán: a light 14-year-old rum, which matured like the other blended distillates in ex-bourbon barrels, an extremely heavy 12-year-old rum and an 11-year-old single barrel rum. The blend of fine rums already smells intoxicatingly of Dulce de Leche, coconut cream, Bourbon coffee, toasted oak wood and cashew nuts when the elaborately decorated bottle is opened.

On the palate, it impresses with a creamy, sweet taste of Dulce de Leche, nuts, a little wood and caramel. The finish is pleasantly mild for the 47.5 percent alcohol by volume of the Nahual Legacy Blend, with a caramel-like sweetness and spicy oak wood.
