The Cihuatán brand is responsible for the first rum from El Salvador, from the only barrel specially bottled for Perola! For this Single Barrel Rum, Ron Cihuatán master blender Gabriela Ayala selected one from 15 handpicked, 15-year-old rums from 15 barrels. The rum comes from the first reserves of Licorera Cihuatán from 2004. The fine spirit is bottled at a cask strength of 55.2 percent by volume; it is therefore the first quality from Cihuatán that has not been reduced to drinking strength. The label on the bottle of Ron Cihuatán Single Barrel also contains interesting information, for example about the congener content (the content of a chemical compound that is created as a by-product in rum production and provides aromas) of the rum and the barrel used during maturation.
