This 2-year-old Rye Whiskey gets its finish in ex-sherry casks, creating a unique dram with amazingly smooth mouthfeel. The name “Minor Case” comes from the grandfather (Minor Case Beam) of the founders and makers of the brand, Steve and Paul Beam.

Nose: Its special post-maturation gives the Whiskey subtle sherry notes on the nose, which gradually merge with earthy, mineral hints.

Palate : it is slightly oily with a taste of butterscotch, vanilla, orange, elderflower, pear, and caramel. On the finish, the distinctive sherry notes join in once again, lingering for what feels like an eternity. Especially noticeable is that, for its 45 percent alcohol by volume, the Rye is exceptionally smooth on the palate.

Limestone Branch Distillery is young for a producer of American Whiskey – it was only in 2010 that the two brothers Steve and Paul Beam founded their passion project in the “Bourbon State” of Kentucky. Tradition still plays a major role in their Whiskeys: the Beam family has been distilling for seven generations: their great-great-grandfather Washington Dant is considered an early Bourbon pioneer, and their great-grandfather Minor Case Beam comes from the Jim Beam family.
