Although the Philippines were occupied by the Spanish for more than three centuries, America had a far more pronounced influence on modern Filipino culture over time. The Rye Aged Rum was allowed to mature for four years at the foot of Mount Kanlaon on the mystical and fertile island of Sugarlandia (the local nickname for Negros) in American rye whiskey barrels. It presents itself with a wonderfully lively and fruity aroma, with spicy notes of black pepper, rich salted caramel, and a hint of fresh mint as well as cedarwood.
