Of 33 casks, 9 were fully matured in PX and 24 were finished for 12-18 months.

The distillery’s latest Sherry bottlings have shown how each individual Sherry style gives Kilchoman whisky its own unique character. Pedro Ximénez (PX) is a sweet Sherry that adds intensely sweet aromas to the whisky. It is Kilchoman’s first worldwide release in PX casks, and Anthony and Robin tasted many variations to create the perfect balance of Kilchoman’s typical notes and the full, sweet PX aromas.

Nose: Prunes, sultanas and heathery peat smoke with fresh coffee, sea spray and hints of citrus.

It is a philosophy that the independent Kilchoman Distillery of the Wills family on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay is certainly guided by - one of the most legendary whisky regions, with its rugged beauty and wide sandy beaches. In 2005, Anthony Wills, as the first distillery founder on the Isle of Islay in 124 years, had a visionary goal: to revive the original craft of "farm distilling". To this day, he uses the fertile soils around the village of Kilchoman for growing his own barley, as well as the quality of the uniquely Islay peat shaped by the Atlantic. All of this is what makes Kilchoman unique today. With the 100% Islay range, the products stand for the only Islay single malt whisky that is produced locally, "From Barley to Bottle" - from barley to bottle - and exclusively by traditional craftsmanship.
