Nose: Maritime notes of sea spray with sweet honey and caramel.

Palate: Creamy vanilla and salted caramel are balanced with warming spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Finish: Long. A nutty finish with gentle warming cinnamon spice and a mildly dry finish.

Glen Scotia Double Cask Rum Finish is a unique malt in the maritime Glen Scotia style with fruity notes that invite you on a journey to the Caribbean. The finish in Demerara rum casks from Guyana gives it an exotic and tropical aroma. This rich and exotic single malt Scotch whisky was matured in the finest American oak casks and is filled with notes of caramelized sugar and tropical fruits. Records from 1815 show that rum casks were already being traded in the globally connected harbor of the Victorian town of Campbeltown even before Glen Scotia was founded. This history inspired Glen Scotia to create today's new Double Cask with Rum Cask Finish.

The Glen Scotia distillery is located on the Kintyre peninsula, more precisely in Campbeltown. In 1832, the distillery was founded by Steward, Galbraith & Co. under the name Scotia Distillery and has had an eventful history ever since. 
With its vibrant setting and the harsh Atlantic breeze, this coastal town has something magical about it. "Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea, my desire is always to be here ..." Paul McCartney sings of the desire to always remain on this peninsula. Presumably, it's not only the mystical appeal of the landscape that is a good reason for this - but also the unique single malt produced here.
