Glen Scotia unveils the 12 Year Old single malt expression

Campbeltown, once known as the Victorian whisky capital with over 30 distilleries in the 19th century, looks back on an eventful past as a former center of whisky production and still enjoys worldwide renown today. This new Glen Scotia 12 Year Old opens with fresh sea air, honey-vanilla notes, and exotic tropical fruits on the nose. Harmonious notes of caramelized sugar, spicy citrus fruits, and lively pineapple unfold on the palate, balanced by subtly toasted oak and a long-lasting, warming finish.

We are delighted to introduce this exciting new release from Campbeltown. Glen Scotia presents a strong new age statement, Glen Scotia 12 Years, which serves as the flagship of the distillery. The Campbeltown malt was allowed to mature entirely in the finest  First Fill Bourbon Casks  and, with 12 years of maturation, puts the distinctive  Campbeltown character in the spotlight, accompanied by tropical fruit aromas and the distillery's beloved maritime notes. Inspired by the blue dunnage warehouse doors, the new age statement is presented in striking royal blue. Look forward to a rich Glen Scotia character and the maritime coastal influence of the Campbeltown distillery!

The Glen Scotia distillery is located on the Kintyre peninsula, more precisely in Campbeltown. In 1832, the distillery was founded by Steward, Galbraith & Co. under the name Scotia Distillery and has had an eventful history ever since. 
With its lively scenery and the rugged Atlantic breeze, this coastal town has something magical about it. "Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea, my desire is always to be here ..." Paul McCartney sings of the desire to always remain on this peninsula. Presumably, it is not only the mystical allure of the landscape that is a good reason for this - but also the unique single malt produced here.
