For the new Festival Edition 2023, Glen Scotia came up with something very special. This year’s Glen Scotia Campbeltown Festival Whisky matured for 11 years in bourbon casks before receiving its twelve-month finish in the finest white port casks. It was bottled at cask strength with 54,7 % vol. The malt reflects the essence of Campbeltown: a touch of salinity meets maritime nuances.

Nose: Warming spiced stone fruit, almost like stewed white peach & cloves, with a fresher lemongrass and a slight mineral element.

Palate: Molasses, caramel sweetness with more prune and fig notes with waxed wood and sandalwood spice.

Finish: Fills the mouth with a long fragrant finish.


The Glen Scotia distillery is located on the Kintyre peninsula, more precisely in Campbeltown. In 1832, the distillery was founded by Steward, Galbraith & Co. under the name Scotia Distillery and has since had an eventful history. 
With its lively backdrop and the rough Atlantic breeze, this coastal town has something magical. “Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea, my desire is always to be here …” Paul McCartney sings of the wish to always stay on this peninsula. Presumably, it is not only the mystical pull of the landscape that is a good reason for that – but also the unique single malt produced here.
