Finch Whisky Distillery The Finch whisky distillery is located on the plateau of the Swabian Alb, 700 meters above sea level. As one of the largest karst regions, this area offers special ecological conditions and a unique natural landscape. This landscape serves as the source of the highest-quality ingredients for Finch whisky production. The distillery was founded in the 1990s, initially as a hobby by Hans Gerhardt Fink, a farmer running a 400-hectare farm. But whisky production soon became professional, and Finch officially began marketing its own whisky in 2014. All ingredients for Finch Distillery products come from its own cultivation, creating a farm-to-glass whisky shaped by craftsmanship throughout the entire production process and a passion for quality and the exceptional. This is also reflected in the use of unusual grains such as emmer, spelt, and rye for whisky production. The still was specially designed for Finch Distillery and is one of the largest pot stills in Germany. After distillation, the whisky matures for a very long period by German standards, sometimes 10 years or more, in high-quality oak casks. The Fine Selection includes the entry-level qualities Classic, Single Malt, and the whisky honey liqueur. The Distillers Choice consists of more demanding, special whiskies, including Barrique R, Single Malt Smoky, and Single Malt Sherry. The Cask Strength series includes the cask-strength whiskies Emmer Edition 2 and Barrel Proof 19, which are intense yet smooth in taste. As a tribute to grain-growing expertise, the Special Grain bottlings are understood as Corn, Rye, and Spelt Port Edition. The Private Edition includes the limited rarities and single-cask bottlings from the master distiller's treasure cellar, presented as Single Malt Madeira Cask and Single Cask 10 Years.
