In 2004, Licorera Cihuatán, originally a leading sugar cane producer in El Salvador, established the first and so far only rum from the Central American country. Driven by the goal of authentically bringing the character of its origin to
the world, Cihuatán Ron de El Salvador is now a true flagship of its homeland.

Chuatán alux is a  rum inspired by the Mayan legend of the Aluxes, guardian gods of the land. According to Mayan lore, these gods lived in maize and cacao fields, as these were regarded as the most sacred gifts of the earth.
At the beginning of every harvest season, the Maya would hold an enchanting feast full of rich treats off chocolate and corn in gratitude to the Aluxes.
Now, as their gift for these guardian gods, the Cihuatan master blender has crafter this special Limited Edition rum.
