It is always interesting when a distillery leaves its usual path for a special bottling. Such as Kilchoman, the farm distillery on Islay, which is now launching the second edition of Kilchoman Unpeated after the extremely sought-after bottling last year - 13 years old and fully matured in a sherry cask. It is a Germany-exclusive special edition from the Islay distillery, limited to 1315 bottles

After the great success and premiere of Kilchoman Unpeated last year, HaWe Bremen is now presenting a second limited edition together with Kilchoman.

Islay’s independent farm distillery, unique with its 100% Islay philosophy, offers the rare opportunity to discover an unpeated, long-matured Kilchoman from its valuable unpeated stocks. The Unpeated Small Batch was distilled from Kilchoman’s own grown barley and matured for 13 years entirely in two Oloroso Sherry Butts. The single malt was bottled at cask strength with 54.5% ABV.

In 2005, Anthony Wills, the first person to found a distillery on the Isle of Islay in 124 years, had a visionary goal: to revive the original craft of "farm distilling." To this day, the fertile soils around the Kilchoman parish for growing its own barley, as well as the quality of the incomparable Islay peat shaped by the Atlantic, form the foundation. All of this is what makes Kilchoman unique today. With the 100% Islay Range, the products stand for the only Islay Single Malt Whisky made "From Barley to Bottle" - from barley to bottle - locally and exclusively through traditional craftsmanship.  Nose: Toffee sweetness and dark fruits with red berries and smoked oak. Palate: Intense sweetness and spiced dark chocolate with raisins, liquorice , rich peat smoke. Finish: Lingering sweetness and spices with integrated smoke throughout.
