Nose: fruity and malty notes of baked pear, honey, orange, almond and pineapple come through.
Taste: Dry, full and somewhat spicy, cloves, pepper and oak. Then it develops into caramel, apricot, liquorice and vanilla.
Finish: Very long and almost salty with fresh herbal notes, as well as orange peel and hazelnut.
All Plantation Single Cask Collection Rum mature in a two-stage ageing process, beginning in the tropics, where they age in bourbon barrels, and then at Château de Bonbonnet in France, to mature in Ferrand casks. Plantation Single Cask Rums then benefit from further maturation in carefully selected beer, wine or spirits casks, each chosen to enhance the rum's unique characteristics. Each Single Cask Rum follows its own ageing path to greatness and each bottle is personalised and numbered. Only a few casks of these unique reserves are bottled each year, making them a collectors' item.
