Nose: Orchard fruit (pear) with a hint of peat, vanilla and malt.
Finish: Sweet, with a lingering salty tingle.
Springbank: The flagship is simply called Springbank—and because of its legendary salty note, it is fondly known as “the Maritime.” Lightly peated and distilled 2.5 times, this single malt was first bottled in 1828 and is now available in 10, 12, 15, 18 and 21-year age statements. Each release is an individual taste experience: the 10-year edition, for example, plays with the flavor of sweet fruit and honey and blends it unmistakably with a fine peaty note. Perfectly balanced in taste, with a deep yet understated malty nuance and a consistently present smoky note, this whisky finishes long and elegant. Available in 46 % Vol. and Cask Strength.
