The wonderful Jamaica rum was distilled in July 2009 as a Continental Flavoured Rum in a notorious Double Retort Pot Still at the HD Distillery, which, alongside Clarendon, Long Pond and Worthy Park, is one of Jamaica’s best-known distilleries. For maturation, the fine spirit was filled into an ex-Bourbon cask before making its way directly to Europe afterwards. Our Single Cask was not bottled until March 2022. DOK therefore spent a full 12 years in continental maturation. With an ester content of 1500-1600 gr/hLAA, a beautiful ester bomb with cask strength of 58,2% vol. has been created.

Nose a real DOK bombshell, rum raisins, candied fruits, a fruit basket of overripe fruits.
Palate  the typically fruity taste, paired with the ester notes, a fruit fireworks display on the tongue .
The Jamaica rum is exceptionally complex and extremely rounded, which makes it especially easy-drinking. presumably HD Hampden

The HD Distillery uses 9 different marques to categorise its rums by ester content. The Marque DOK was named after the former employee and shareholder Dermot Owen Kelly-Lawsen. When people talk about a DOK today, they automatically mean the distillery’s rum with the highest permitted ester content that may still be exported. DOK is also one of the exceptionally flavourful and particularly "funky-gen" types of rum. Our latest bottling therefore makes not only our hearts beat faster, but also those of DOK connoisseurs.
