The distillery in Jamaica is located in the interior of the country, about 1 km from the sugar factory. Rum has been produced intermittently since the 1840s. In 1962, production was stopped due to an oversupply of Jamaican rums. In 2004, the owners decided to distill rum again, and in 2005 the 100% copper pot still from Forsyths, the industry leader in pot still production, was installed from Scotland. This rum was distilled in 2007, and after more than 11 years of aging in Jamaica in a bourbon cask, the rum arrived in Bad Bevensen at the end of 2018.
Nose: a fine aroma of fruit, a little green pepper, and an alluring spiciness. After it has had some time to breathe, a lovely sweet note of pineapple, caramelized banana, olive herb, and a little vanilla is added.
Palate: an explosion of flavor of a tropical fruit cocktail with a little smoke, vanilla, and olive.
