Nose: beautiful freshness, followed by a delicate sweetness of exotic dried fruits, a little cinnamon, honey, and a touch of licorice. It finishes with a blend of fine wood, a hint of tobacco, and leather.
Palate: aromas of red berries, vanilla, a cocktail of various spices, a little licorice, oak, and tobacco.
Finish: long-lasting with a beautifully balanced wood-tobacco note, paired with spices.
This rum is like a vacation, only much more intense than 14 days of an ordinary beach holiday. It is like an adventure vacation with kite surfing, snorkeling, a trip to the fish market at the old harbor of La Darse, or a visit to the 100 islands (e.g. Marie-G alante). A vacation in Guadeloupe makes you quickly forget home, and this rum is just like that. This bottling is not a rum based on sugarcane juice, but a rum made from molasses, distilled in a Column Still. It was already tropically aged for 7 years before it was imported to Europe and, after a total of 24 years of maturation, found its way into the bottle.
