Nose:  Date, ripe fig, harmoniously integrated smoke, peat,  firebrick, ethereal

Palate: Spicy-sweet, tart fruit, smoked (Black Forest ham), peat, tobacco, very balanced

Fermentation 4 to 5 days. Aged in the country of origin for 2 years in American bourbon barrels (200 l) finished at MAISON FERRAND for 9 years in FERRAND barrels (350 l) 1 year in Big Peat Islay Whisky barrels Finish info “Big Peat” is a very smoky blend created from several Islay whiskies (Ardberg, Bowmore, Port Ellen, Caol Ila). Well-known blended malt Scotch whisky from the independent bottler Douglas Laing.

The Plantation Single Cask Rums are limited editions of double-aged Haute Couture Rums. The fine spirits first mature in used bourbon barrels in a tropical climate before receiving their finish in ex-Ferrand barrels made of French oak. This takes place in the southwest of France. Alexandre Gabriel, who was awarded the title of world’s best master blender in 2012, always carefully selects the barrels for the second maturation. They usually previously held wine, another type of spirit, or even beer. The type of barrel used is selected individually for each rum to highlight its unique character. Only a few versions of Plantation rums are produced each year, making them true collector’s items.
