Founded in 1753, Hampden Estate has been distilling for almost three centuries in the Trelawny region, the “Grand Cru” of Jamaican rum. The distillery’s heavy, unadulterated pure single pot still rums are known around the world. Five strictly defined production methods guarantee their full-bodied flavor with highly aromatic ester notes - including fermentation with wild yeasts and maturation for at least eight years in the tropical climate of greathouse Jamaica. Hampden Great House 2024, a blend reissued every year since 2019, is the sixth release in the series of the same name. This bottling is a tribute to the distillery’s Great House, the representative villa built in 1779 by the Stirling family, who owned it. The Distillery Edition 2024 expresses the unmistakable style of the Jamaican cult rum through the combination of several marques from three different vintages: the freshness of mint meets lush tropical fruits, mineral slate notes, chocolate, and intense raisin notes. Jamaica, the Trelawny region, the end of a driveway lined with royal palms: here stands one of the Caribbean’s most magnificent estates - the Hampden Great House. Built in 1779 by the first owners of the estate, the Stirlings, the villa with its expansive loggias still represents the Hampden Estate Distillery, which is located right next door. With Distillery Edition 21, the distillery has now distilled the third edition of its tribute to the old manor house. To do so, the distillery, admired by connoisseurs worldwide for its unique production methods and especially aromatic style, blended two rums of different vintages and marques.
