Scotland limited Campbeltown scotch whisky at cask strength. Finished in Deep Charred Oak Casks small batch.
Aroma: Dark again. An elegant nose with hints of oak driving the bouquet. Interesting creme brulee notes leading to generous caramelized fruits and finally polished oak.
Finish: Clean and initially sweet. The green bean, with cocoa characteristic.
This special Campbeltown single malt is first matured in 1st Fill Bourbon Casks, then 30% of the malt receives its 12-month finish in 1st Fill PX Sherry Butts and 70% in Heavy Char Barrels, before being married together as Glen Scotia Victoriana.
This single malt is a modern interpretation of the whisky from Campbeltown's Victorian era.
A wonderful peated whisky bottled at a powerful 54.2% cask strength.
The Glen Scotia distillery is located on the Kintyre peninsula, more precisely in Campbeltown. The distillery was founded in 1832 by Steward, Galbraith & Co. under the name Scotia Distillery and has had an eventful history ever since.
With its lively setting and the raw Atlantic breeze, this coastal town has something magical about it. "Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea, my desire is always to be here ..." Paul McCartney sings of the desire to always remain on this peninsula. Presumably, it is not only the mystical allure of the landscape that is a good reason for this - but also the unique single malt produced here.
