185 years of Glenfarclas – the world-famous Speyside distillery is now celebrating with a very special bottling: the Glenfarclas 185th Anniversary Edition.

The foundation for a very special family story was laid in May 1836. The former Rechlerich Farm was officially licensed as a “distillery”.

Due to my grandfather’s foresight, here at Glenfarclas we are very fortunate to have casks in our dunnage from 8 different decades from the 1950s to the 2020s. Some of our even predate the 185th anniversary we are celebrating, as uisge beatha was being made at Glenfarclas a good few years before a licence was held. - George Grant 

Nose: The different ages and cask types in the vatting were selected to give whisky a nice sweet, sherried nose and a wonderful velvet mouth feel, while the typical notes of older Glenfarclas whisky comes through on the nose. Taste: Flavours of burnt caramel, a slight hint of peat and the sweet fruitiness of stewed apples with spicey custard on top. Finish: The flavours continue to develop long after the liquid has been swallowed, dark chocolate, a nice light woodiness and a lovely coating around the mouth.
