With its vibrant setting and the raw Atlantic breeze, this coastal town has something magical about it. "Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea, my desire is always to be here ..." Paul McCartney sings of the desire to always remain on this peninsula. Presumably, it is not only the mystical allure of the landscape that is a good reason for this - but also the unique single malt produced here. 

Records as far back as the 1800s show that Campbeltown, like much of Scotland, has enjoyed a long-standing love affair with the use of sherry casks in whisky maturation. Given its fortunate location on the West Coast of Scotland and easy access to the sea trading routes of the time, it is hardly surprising that Campbeltown had first choice of some of the finest sherry casks in the world. So it is fitting that one of our oldest and most refined expressions, the Glen Scotia 18-year-old, enjoys a lengthy twelve-month finish in Oloroso sherry casks, delivering a floral sweetness while never masking the renowned distillery character that lies beneath.
