Nose: Hints of cacao with an essence of leather, black cherry and light smoke.
Palate: Roasted hazelnut, dark chocolate and roasted dark fruits give way to light ashy peat smoke.
Finish: Balanced and long with fresh Islay sea breeze.
Each cask was selected for its unique flavor profile, which in combination with the other 21 casks creates a wonderful balance of rich fruit character with classic Kilchoman peat smoke and citrus sweetness.
Single malts from sherry casks have always enjoyed great popularity among whisky enthusiasts. Islay's farm distillery Kilchoman presents the Loch Gorm 2023 Edition, which was matured 100 percent in Oloroso Sherry Butts. Founder Anthony Wills emphasizes the exceptional balance of the intense sherry aromas with Kilchoman's signature citrus note and peat smoke.
The Loch Gorm Limited Edition 2023 was matured in 22 Oloroso Sherry Butts sourced from the renowned bodega José y Miguel Martín, from which Glenfarclas also obtains its famous sherry casks. The exceptionally intense sherry aromas from the full maturation in the bodega's casks give the whisky a full-bodied and fruity character that combines wonderfully with classic Kilchoman peat smoke and citrus aromas. For the 2023 edition, Anthony Wills and Robin Bignal selected a total of 22 casks.
