Nose: Shortbread, baked apple,  Islay peat smoke, intense shortbread, baked apples and Islay peat smoke on the nose. Custard, ginger, lemon zest and baked apples on the palate lead into a long, smoky finish.

The characteristic Islay notes of peat and smoke harmonize with a sweet
fruitiness and intense depth of flavor    no chill filtration and no added coloring no sugar ; 40 ppm tastes like 10 years ..  produced in Worm Tubs on the island of Islay. Wooden washbacks...  40 ppm lightly peated.  With great anticipation, we present the strictly limited first release from Ardnahoe Distillery. Over the years, including on site, we have been able to follow the flavor profile of the Ardnahoe spirit. The quality is exceptional, also thanks to the use of two worm tubs and the very long lyne arms, which allow extremely high copper contact. Ardnahoe is set for a strong start: A New Islay Classic. The Inaugural Release marks the beginning – A New Islay Classic – Ardnahoe Distillery  – Limited Edition First Ardnahoe Generation.  About Ardanhoe. : With this first release, "The Inaugural Release," the Laing family's long-cherished wish to produce their own Single Malt Scotch Whisky on the magical island of Islay comes true, shaped by the three generations of the Laing family, which has been an important part of the whisky industry since 1940. Stewart Laing and his sons Andrew and Scott had long dreamed of opening their own distillery, and in October 2018 that dream became reality when the first cask, numbered 001, was filled. Distillery Manager Fraser Hughes created the first generation of Ardnahoe using  traditional methods: Softly peated Islay water is drawn from nearby Loch Ardnahoe, while the distillery uses two traditional worm tubs - the only ones on Islay. These were chosen to give the malt additional depth of flavor and complexity. Inaugural Release – The beginning of Ardnahoe.   The Inaugural Release matured for 5 years in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks and was bottled at Ardnahoe's preferred strength of 50,0 %  no chill filtration and no added coloring no sugar bottled. On the nose, this exclusive single malt has aromas of shortbread, baked apples, and Islay peat smoke. On the palate, it has vanilla cream, ginger, lemon zest, and baked apples, finishing with a long and smoky finish. Cask selection is of great importance to Ardnahoe Distillery. The bourbon casks come directly from the USA and are made from American white oak, while the Oloroso sherry casks, sourced directly from Jerez, are made from European oak.
