The Work of Human Hands - Springbank and its sister distillery Kilkerran produce their single malts 100% by hand, traditionally, and locally in Campbeltown. As a result of the original methods, only limited production capacities are available. Each Campbeltown single malt whisky from the Springbank family J. & A. Mitchell & Co. Ltd reveals its own style through different distillation levels and peat intensities. Kilkerran is a lightly peated, double-distilled single malt, bottled without colouring and chill filtration.  Glengyle Distillery was founded in 1873 by William Mitchell and produced a typical Campbeltown malt before it seemingly closed its doors forever in 1925. Then came the reopening in 2004 - once again by the descendants of the Mitchells. Since then, lightly peated whiskies have been produced here under the Kilkerran label. The malt is sourced from the sister distillery Springbank.
