LIMITED EDITION Cask Type: Refill Bourbon Casks and fresh Pedro Ximénez Casks
Nose: An unmistakable Sherry influence presents itself from the beginning, with rich notes of date syrup and raisins kicking off this full-bodied dram.
Palate: A tannic, spicy element is introduced on the palate, along with notes of cola cubes, cherry menthol, cinnamon and caramel. The typical Springbank characteristics hold their own against the heavy PX influence in an apparent oiliness and damp, dunnage note.
Finish: The tannic element continues through to the finish, and PX qualities come to the forefront in notes of sultanas and rich spices.
Springbank: The flagship is simply called Springbank–and because of its legendary salty note is often referred to as "the Maritime." Lightly peated and distilled 2.5 times, this single malt was first bottled in 1828 and is now available in 10, 12, 15, 18 and 21-year-old versions. Each individual bottling is a unique taste experience: in the 10-year-old edition, for example, the aroma plays with the taste of sweet fruits and honey, varying this inimitably with a fine peaty note. Perfectly balanced in taste, with a deep yet understated malt nuance and a consistently present smoky note, this whisky is long and elegant on the finish. Available at 46 % Vol. and Cask Strength.
