Nose: Sweet and tropical on the nose, notes of baked pineapple, lemon sherbet, honeycomb and dried orange peel introduce this delicate dram.
Palate: Sweet and savoury notes come together on the palate, with notes of green apples complemented by a slight vegetal note. There is a creaminess present in notes of pastel de nata and custard creams.
Finish: There is a subtle earthiness in the finish, along with hints of salted caramel, ginger, toasted coconut and a mineral note.
Hazelburn: An exceptionally elegant example of its kind and the third in the distinguished Springbank family is Hazelburn. First bottled in 1997, this fine single malt is produced with air-dried malt and is unpeated. It is distilled three times in copper pot stills. The result is light and fruity: a subtle malt that, in its successful combination, seems to refine the different nuances of flavour once again and is available in 10- and 12-year-old expressions.
The Work of Human Hands – Springbank and its sister distillery Kilkerran produce their single malts 100% by hand, traditionally and on site in Campbeltown. As a result of the original methods, only limited production capacities are available. Every Campbeltown single malt whisky from the Springbank family J. & A. Mitchell & Co. Ltd reveals its own style through different distillation stages and levels of smoke. Kilkerran is a lightly peated, double-distilled single malt that is bottled without colouring or chill filtration.
