La Hechicera Rum is a Solera blend of 12- to 21-year-old rums and comes from Colombia. The Experimental No.1 series matured for several months in former Moscatel wine casks.The nose reveals intense notes of tropical fruit, roasted pineapple, ripe banana, and pecans.On the palate, impressions of plums, spices, vanilla, butterscotch, and a hint of marzipan dominate.The Experimental No.1 series from La Hechicera is limited worldwide to just 7200 bottles! The basis for this successful experiment is the classic La Hechicera Rum from Colombia. For this drop, 12- to 21-year-old rums are blended. The result is a rum that duly reflects the diversity of its origin, an enchanting rum with intense coffee, toffee, orange, and tobacco notes. Incidentally, no sugar or other additives are added to the Colombian rum. For the several-month finish of La Hechicera Rum Series Experimental No.1, brand owner Miguel Riascos Jr. uses American oak casks that were previously filled with the finest Moscatel wine. The result is an exceptionally complex rum that gives La Hechicera tropical-fruity notes and a warming spiciness.  The La Hechicera special edition already gives off an intense aroma of tropical fruits, roasted pineapple, ripe bananas, and pecans in the glass. On the palate, a full-bodied flavor of plums, vanilla, butterscotch, subtle marzipan, and a strong helping of spices impresses. The finish is wonderfully balanced; the dry taste of oak wood remains on the palate.
