Palate  Layered fruit, spices, cinnamon, baked apple. Strawberry jam. Barley, sweet pear.

Finish : classic Arran, typical sweetness, barley.

Part of a series of single malt whiskies that have only received a finish in casks in which liqueur wines had previously been stored. In the case of this Arran whisky, these are casks that previously contained port wine. Before this whisky receives its finish in these port casks, it matures for eight years in American oak casks.

Under the guidance of the Master Distillers of the brand, it is ensured that characteristic influences of Arran's house style are combined in a tasteful way with aromas released by the port casks. The end result is an excellent whisky with an exceptionally balanced, lively, and fruity character.

The island of Arran is both wonderfully beautiful and unique. With its mountains, lowlands, glens, lakes, and royal castles, it embodies the entire landscape of Scotland and is affectionately  called “Scotland in miniature” .

The Isle of Arran distillery was built in 1994 at the foot of the village of Lochranza. On June 29, 1995, the first spirit flowed from the stills, bringing legal distillation back to Arran after more than 150 years. This distillery was the first in a new generation of distilleries in the 90s. Since that day in June 1995, when the first cask was filled, Arran has produced top-class unpeated single malt whisky, which has gained international recognition through numerous gold medals.

The latest chapter in its whisky history on the island began in June 2019, when its second distillery in Lagg in the south of Arran opened its doors to the public and began producing heavily peated whisky in the signature Arran style. Almost 25 years after whisky distilling started in Lochranza, Isle of Arran Distillers are now the proud owners and operators of two very different and unique distilleries on the island of Arran.
