The current distillery was founded in 1949. In 1990, the still process was replaced by the continuous distillation process. Fermentation lasts 72 hours and only locally grown sugar is used. We present an extremely rare and exclusive bottling from the famous Rhum Barbancourt distillery - Rhum Barbancourt Volcanic Cane 15 Years Peated Whisky Cask Finish. This limited edition reflects the perfect fusion of two terroirs, Haitian sugar cane and the legendary peat of the world-famous whisky island of Islay. After long maturation in ex-Cognac casks and several months in ex-Bourbon casks, the rhum completed its journey in ex-whisky casks from Islay. Bottled at cask strength, Volcanic Cane presents a wonderfully coppery color.
