The family business Hunter Laing has made a name for itself not only with the opening of the A rdnahoe Distillery on the island of Islay, but especially in the segment of single cask bottlings. With the “Old Malt Cask” series, Hunter Laing is one of Scotland’s best-known and most renowned single cask bottlers. Stewart H. Laing and his sons Scott and Andrew buy only the highest-quality casks from Scotland’s most sought-after distilleries and allow them to mature and be bottled according to their own ideas: every cask has its own unique character, giving the bottled Scotch whiskies a distinctive flavour and the connoisseur a special tasting experience. Based on decades of experience, the master blender, with the support of the tasting panel, samples dozens of casks from HunterLaing’s warehouses and selects just a few casks each month that are at the peak of maturation.
