Palate: powerful, just like on the nose: a true firework of aromas, supported by a perfectly integrated alcohol content – pure indulgence with class.

This outstanding rum impressed us so much that we decided to secure several casks from this exceptional 2010 vintage. Connoisseurs will already recognize the distinctive flavor profile from our Sea Wynde Blend – where the Port Mourant shaped the character of the bottling with a proud 76 %. It was also largely responsible for the fruity depth in the HQNB Blend of Edition 55. With the current Edition 58, we now present the sister cask, which for us embodies the quintessence of this vintage – powerful, complex, and simply outstanding.

A noble rum from Guyana – rich in character and depth – is just the right thing to warm up and face winter in style.

Our 58th edition is an exceptional Single Cask rum from the legendary Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still – the only remaining still of its kind. This historic still made from Guyanese greenheart wood has been in operation for over 150 years and gives it a uniquely rich and unforgettable character. Originally housed at the Port Mourant Distillery, which closed its doors in 1955, the still embarked on a journey steeped in history – first to the Albion Distillery, then to Uitvlugt, and since 2000 to its current home at Diamond Distillery, operated by Demerara Distillers Limited. This special Single Cask rum, distilled in 2010 and matured for 15 years in American oak, is a testament to the enduring legacy of Guyana's rum tradition – deeply aromatic, richly structured, and destined to enchant discerning palates on long winter evenings.
As always in our RumClub series, this single cask was also bottled at cask strength, preserving its pure character without any additives.
