In evergreen Macouba on Martinique, Rhum J.M is home to one of the few distilleries in the world that distill Rhum Agricole. The small Antillean distillery follows the strict regulations of the "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée". How to meet such high standards in production and enjoyment has been passed down at Rhum J.M since 1845. La Dame Jeanne No. 3 brings together six rare rums distilled between 2004 and 2014. The distillates from freshly pressed sugar cane juice matured for at least nine and up to 18 years in the island's tropical climate. Drawn from bourbon and new American oak casks, all components were married at natural cask strength and without additives. The highly limited assemblage recalls the glass vessels known as "Dame Jeanne", once used to store and transport rum.

How to meet such high standards in production and enjoyment has been passed down at Rhum J.M since 1845 – all the way to "Maître de chai" Karine Lassalle, who today is responsible for the Antillean distillery's versatile product range.

With two Rhum J.M Single Barrels – exclusive to Kirsch Import customers – exquisite samples of their craftsmanship now await discerning palates. Like all rhums from the family-run distillery, they are based on the very freshly pressed juice of estate-grown sugar cane from the foot of the Montagne Pelée volcano. Rhum Vieux Agricole 2015/2021, at a robust 55.1% vol., is a complex agricole rum with nutty notes, caramel, characteristically grassy notes, and banana peel, among others. The connoisseur also tasted the single cask bottling Rhum Agricole Hors d'Âge 1999/2021, which matured for an unusually long 21 years: "Extraordinary, flabbergasting nose, only to be experienced in the agricoles of good age."
