LAST 6 BOTTLES

Bellamy's 1998 2021 23y Trinidad Caroni Distillery single cask Reserve Rum cask strength 0,7l 64% vol. Belamys Belamy cask strength

limited to 248 bottles

It was distilled in January 1998 and bottled in September 2021 at a proud cask strength of 64 percent alcohol by volume, with 248 bottles released. The rum is aromatically convincing with unusually fruity impressions for a Caroni, featuring papaya, bitter orange, blackcurrant, and mango, joined by burnt wood, leather, cinnamon, and menthol. Palate: strikingly intense with notes of menthol, acacia honey, sour cherry, blackcurrant, papaya, bitter orange, strong chamomile or sage tea, and a little thyme as well as incense. This Bellamy's Reserve Rum lingers on the tongue and in the mind above all with its medicinal, herbal, and smoky notes.   It doesn't get more exclusive: this 23-year-old Trinidad Caroni Rum is bottled at cask strength! This exceptional single cask comes from the now-closed Caroni Distillery in Trinidad. It was distilled in January 1998 and bottled in September 2021 at a proud cask strength of 64 percent alcohol by volume. The rum is aromatically convincing with unusually fruity impressions for a Caroni, featuring papaya, bitter orange, blackcurrant, and mango, joined by burnt wood, leather, cinnamon, and a little menthol. On the palate, it is strikingly intense with notes of menthol, acacia honey, sour cherry, blackcurrant, papaya, bitter orange, strong chamomile or sage tea, and a little thyme as well as incense. This Bellamy's Reserve Rum lingers on the tongue and in the mind above all with its medicinal, herbal, and smoky notes. Rums from the Caroni Distillery in Trinidad, which closed in 2002, are highly sought after by rum experts around the world. Not only because these drops are very rare, but also because of their complex, smoky aroma and flavor profiles. In September 2021, Bellamy's Reserve Rum bottled a particularly long-matured example: a single cask aged for 23 years! The outstandingly well-integrated cask strength of 64% vol. provides an especially intense taste experience.

What does Bellamy's Reserve Rum Caroni taste like?

As soon as you pour the 23-year-old Caroni into the glass, intensely fruity aromas immediately unfold, which are rather unusual for a Caroni rum. Papaya, mango, bitter orange, blackcurrant, menthol, and leather especially come to the fore in the bouquet. In the background, nuances of cinnamon, burnt wood, and tar create a complex picture. On the palate as well, smoke and tar are more restrained than in many other bottlings from this distillery: the palate is enchanted by powerful notes of menthol, acacia honey, sour cherry, blackcurrant, papaya, bitter orange, strong chamomile or sage tea, and a hint of thyme as well as incense, complemented by the Caroni-typical hints of tar. In the impressively long finish, the medicinal and smoky impressions intensify more and more until this fantastic taste experience reaches its finale with a hint of herbs.
