Collection: Depaz Brand Rum Rhum

Depaz comes from the Caribbean island of Martinique, one of the French overseas departments. The Depaz house and the sugarcane cultivation at Habitation Depaz date back to 1635, although the official founding year is recorded as 1651. Thus, the know-how of the habitation draws on nearly 400 years of traditions and experience. Located on the Pelée volcano, the highest mountain on the island, the fertile soil and the special highland climate on the slopes of the volcano give the sugarcane produced there a unique flavor with a high recognition value.

To this day, the sugarcane is only grown on their own sugarcane fields and also processed there. The freshly pressed sugarcane juice is distilled in a traditional Coffey Still (also called Creole Column Still).

The distillation apparatus is by definition a single-column Column Still. From an aromatic point of view, the complexity and aroma of the distillate correspond more to a rum from a Pot Still system than from a Multi Column Still.

Thus, the base product of Depaz is a traditionally aromatic and complex white Rhum. Of course, Depaz is produced in accordance with the high-quality standards of the AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée) guidelines. Therefore, the Rhum matures exclusively in oak barrels and is bottled without colorants, sugar, or other additives.
