Baie des Trésors Brand Rum Rhum Agricole

Baie des Trésors – much more than just a brand name. The beautiful Rhum Agricole is named after a bay on the Caravelle peninsula in Martinique. Baie des Trésors translates to "The Treasure Bay." This can also be applied to the rum. Made from the treasures of the terroir of the island of Martinique, without colorings or additives, but 100% pure sugarcane juice – Baie des Trésors tells the story of the rich soil from which this gem was created. The exceptional soils on and around the peninsula offer ideal conditions for growing sugarcane. The rum is produced by the Gouyer family, who formerly owned the Gallion sugar factory. Today, the family still owns the lion's share of the sugarcane fields in Martinique, which have never been sold. With the growing success of Rhum Agricole, they are now back in the rum business with their own brand and two products.

Each of the two bottlings plays with the different terroirs of the island in its own unique way. While one of the two fields is very close to the water and almost resembles a swamp, the other plot lies in a very dry region of the coast with very little rainfall. The distillation and aging of both products take place under exactly the same conditions. Only the influence of the terroir accounts for the differences.
