Palate: Rich, balanced, compote, smoke

Finish: dark fruit, gentle smoky undertone It was bottled at 55,8 % vol. and is, of course, neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

At the start of the year, Morrison Distillers completely reinvented the Old Perth series In addition to the standards, Original, Cask Strength and 12 years, there will in future - subject to availability - be limited vintage bottlings. The first representative of the Vintage Collection is a blended malt from casks that were all distilled in 1996. The casks come from a wide variety of whisky regions in Scotland, unlike the base whiskies, which are only from Speyside distilleries. Through the good connections to Islay, and in order to bring the Old Perth brand “closer to home” again, a small share of Islay malt was also included in the vatting. The complete maturation of all the malts used took place exclusively in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenes sherry casks. The bottling is limited to 936 bottles of 0,7 litres

The Morrison family is back in the distillery business. After the Morrison family, represented by Brian Morrison, sold the whisky distilleries Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glan Garioch to Suntory in the mid-90s, they are now re-entering the whisky scene as distillery operators.
