With The Arran BARREL BONFIRE, the Isle of Arran Distillery presents the second edition of its innovative Signature Series, distinguished by creative cask selection, experimental maturation, and sensory depth. This bottling at 50% vol. combines Arran's typical fruitiness with smoky, wood-driven notes – inspired by the atmosphere of a crackling campfire in the cask warehouse. The BARREL BONFIRE edition was matured in specially selected casks that develop intense roasted aromas through toasting and re-charring. The combination of fresh oak, charcoal, and a fruity base structure makes this Single Malt Scotch Whisky an exceptional composition with depth and complexity. As with all bottlings in the Signature Series, Arran does without chill filtration and colorings – for an authentic taste experience at natural strength. Each bottle is stylishly presented in a natural-colored linen bag – a true collector's item with high recognizability. The BARREL BONFIRE Single Malt is aimed at connoisseurs who are passionate about powerful, cask-driven whiskies and are curious about the aromatic diversity of the Signature Series.Tasting note:Color: Deep golden with light amber reflections.
The Arran BARREL BONFIRE is an excellent companion to grilled meat, especially BBQ dishes, smoked ribs, or spicy chorizo. Strong cheeses such as aged Comté or Manchego also pair very well with its intense aromas. As a sweet accompaniment, flamed desserts such as crème brûlée or roasted pecans are recommended. For special moments of enjoyment, this whisky can also be enjoyed neat on a cool evening – ideal in front of the fireplace or outdoors with friends.
The popular distillery gave its core range a new design in 2019, which is why this whisky looks different from the first release year in 2018. Nevertheless, the quality has remained unchanged. It is still a fantastic whisky. The Isle of Arran distillery was built in 1 994 at the foot of the village of Lochranza. On 29 June 1 995, the first spirit flowed from the stills, bringing legal distillation back to Arran after more than 150 years. This distillery was the first in a new generation of distilleries in the 1990s. Since that day in June 1995, when the first cask was filled, Arran has been producing first-class unpeated Single Malt Whisky that has gained international recognition through numerous gold medals won. The latest chapter in its whisky history on the island began in June 2019, when its second distillery in Lagg in the south of Arran opened its doors to the public and began producing heavily peated whisky in the typical Arran style. Almost 25 years after the whisky distillery in Lochranza began operations, the Isle of Arran Distillers are now proud owners and operators of two very different and unique distilleries on the Isle of Arran.
