Nose: fruity, Agricole, harmonious, delicately refreshing, Pico white wine, complex,  sweet honey, yellow fruits.

Palate:   Fireworks of aromas: honey, fresh sugar cane, refreshingly green aromas, yellow fruits, dried fruits.

The result truly leaves nothing to be desired. Due to the very high alcohol content, this rum is extraordinarily intense and demanding, yet it can be said to be surprisingly harmonious and smooth. That is why this cask was deliberately not diluted. 

This exquisite rum, made from freshly pressed sugarcane juice, was distilled in March 2019 at the renowned Bielle Distillery on the island of Marie Galante. It is not only very difficult to obtain casks from this traditional distillery at all, but single casks are usually priceless. At Bielle, the rum is usually reduced after distillation to about 65 % vol. with water and then filled into wooden casks. Our Single Cask was filled into the cask in 2019 at full distillation strength, i.e. at 77 % vol. After distillation, the rum set sail for Europe aboard the historic sailing ship Avontuur. After its arrival, it matured for six years in a small white wine cask from the Azores island of Pico (Barrica de Vinho branco do Pico).

All three factors together make this bottling rare and exceptional at the same time. The combination of full distillation strength, a small wooden cask, and the absence of added water results in a very limited release of only 137 bottles.
