Nose: Aromatic, floral, with bakery spices, toffee, caramel, baked apples and pears.

Palate: Smooth with notes of sweet caramel, sultanas, baked apples with cinnamon; pepper & oak spices with a hint of ginger & cloves.

Finish: Caramel sweetness with herbal notes and peppery spices.

In German: “We are still here, despite everything and everyone, we are still here.” No. 10 in Penderyn’s Icons of Wales series is called YMA O HYD. It is the patriotic anthem of the “Red Wall” of Welsh football fans. The whisky is bottled in partnership with the Welsh Football Association and is the official release for the Wales campaign at the 2022 World Cup. For the first time in 64 years, since 1958, the Welsh national football team has qualified for the World Cup finals again. (In 1958, by the way, Pele himself knocked the Welsh out of the competition.) The Red Wall of football fans passionately cheered their team through qualification under the motto Together Stronger, and adopted the song YMA O HYD, with its poetry and epic chorus, as their patriotic anthem. The song was quickly embraced by the Welsh team as a motivating anthem as well. The Icons of Wales No. 10/50 was bottled at a smooth 43 % and finished in American Rye Whiskey barrels.
