The Solist Ex-Bourbon is matured in American white oak casks (Quercus alba) and bottled as a single cask at cask strength. Like the other expressions in the Solist series, the Ex-Bourbon bottles are marked with a serial number and available in a limited edition. Tasting notes - Color: fascinating golden yellow; Bouquet: pure, refreshing with the aroma of tropical fruits and rich in coconut, vanilla and smoky wood; Taste: naturally sweet, blended with vanilla and oak. KAVALAN is the traditional name of the Yilan region and its indigenous people. The KAVALAN distillery is located about an hour's drive southeast of the capital Taipei in this very region. One of the main reasons for choosing this location is the excellent water quality. Yilan is known far beyond Taiwan's borders for its numerous natural springs, which provide light and slightly sweet water. Producer Kavalan The KAVALAN distillery is part of the Taiwanese family-owned King Car Group, which employs nearly 2500 people and was founded in 1956 by Tian-Tsai Lee. The King Car Group is a family-run company whose president is still its founder to this day. The general manager is his eldest son, Yu-Ting Lee, who runs the company in the spirit of his father. For several years now, King Car has earned a significant name in the international whisky world. Opened in 2005, the KAVALAN distillery in the Yilan region produces high-quality single malts under the direction of master blender Ian Chang, delighting connoisseurs all over the world.

Recommendation Enjoy this special whisky unchilled or on ice as a digestif, in good company, with a cigar. It also pairs very well with desserts such as crème brûlée.

The Kavalan Solist Ex-Bourbon Cask comes from the Kavalan distillery in Taiwan, built in 2005. This single malt is the reason for many awards and enormous demand for the distillery's bottlings. The name Solist stands for single cask bottlings at cask strength and in this edition is bottled at 57.1% vol. The whisky was matured in the finest ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak. The bottles are marked with the cask number, individually numbered, and bear the signature of the master blender. The Kavalan Solist Ex-Bourbon is not chill-filtered and has no added coloring.
