Trelawny – for rum lovers, that is the equivalent of the whisky island Islay: a place of longing with legendary bottlings in the region’s unique style. Since 1753, the Long Pond Distillery has shaped this style, among others. Over time, the distillery took over the reproduction of certain styles from operations that closed their doors, and today it stands for a wide variety of marques. Also as part of the National Rums of Jamaica Ltd. For the conglomerate, Long Pond reproduced the rare STCE marque of the Cambridge distillery in Trelawny, which closed in 1947.   STCE stands for Simon Thompson Cambridge Estate. This means the rum can be classified as “Continental Flavoured Style,” one of four classifications used in Jamaica.  The rare remainder is intense, full-bodied, and complex, with notes of ripe banana and beeswax, walnut and pineapple, all the way to crème brûlée and tar.
