Finish: Warm, long-lasting, with tropical fruit accents (pineapple, kiwi) and caressing Bourbon cask wood notes

To mark the 15th anniversary of its "Solist Single Cask" series, Kavalan presents a very special edition: Two hand-selected bottlings come from the 2009 vintage - one of them matured in American ex-Bourbon barrels. These bottlings embody exactly the passion and expertise with which Kavalan has always crafted its whiskies.
Bottled at a generous 50 % vol., this expression reflects Kavalan's technical skill and maturation expertise. It shows a bright amber color and reveals aromas of vanilla, honey, roasted almonds, stone fruit, and butterscotch - on the palate, a butter cake texture, tropical fruits, vanilla ice cream, light pepper and eucalyptus notes through to an elegant finish.
This edition is among the oldest whiskies Kavalan has released to date.
The unique gift set also includes a stylish glass, a gradient coaster, and luxurious packaging - designed to visually reflect the maturation experience.

The whisky is bottled at a robust 50,00 % vol. and is, of course, without added coloring.

KAVALAN is the traditional name of the Yilan region and its indigenous people. The KAVALAN distillery is located about an hour's drive southeast of the capital Taipei in this very region. One of the key reasons for choosing this location is the outstanding water quality. Yilan is known far beyond Taiwan's borders for its many natural springs, which provide light, slightly sweet water. Producer Kavalan The KAVALAN distillery is part of the Taiwanese family-owned King Car Group, which employs nearly 2,500 people and was founded in 1956 by Tian-Tsai Lee. The King Car Group is a family-run company whose president is still the founder himself. The general manager is his eldest son, Yu-Ting Lee, who runs the company in his father's spirit. For several years now, King Car has earned a significant name in the international whisky world. Opened in 2005, the KAVALAN distillery in the Yilan region is the first privately run independent distillery to produce high-quality single malts that delight connoisseurs all over the world. The Solist Fino is the pride and joy of the KAVALAN distillery and the highlight of the Solist series. This whisky, matured in the finest Fino sherry casks, was named World Whisky of the Year in Jim Murray…s Whisky Bible 2012 and awarded 97 out of 100 points.
