Bleeding Heart Rum Company Philippines This limited edition, marked by shamanic rituals full of mystique and magic, features a finish in ex-Islay whisky barrels. As usual, this rum also comes from the column still of a distillery on the Philippine island of Negros. The basis was molasses from locally harvested sugar cane, also known as "Black Gold". The main three-year maturation in ex-bourbon barrels was followed by two finishes: first six months in heavily toasted ex-Rioja barrels and then another three months in toasted ex-Islay whisky barrels. The tropical climate of the island and its proximity to Mount Kanlaon volcano influenced the maturation. After filtration, it was bottled at an alcohol content of 40 percent. On the island of Siquijor, south of Negros, people seeking love are said to have once searched for Gayuma. It is said to have been used in traditional ceremonies to unite the powers of the spiritual and material worlds.  Since it is a Philippine tradition not to top up the losses that occur in this way, this creates an extremely dark, intense, and highly concentrated rum. The master blender's work for this limited rum is particularly demanding.  "The sugar cane for Don Papa Rum is grown exclusively on the island of Negros, which is considered the "sugar bowl" of the Philippines.  Don Papa Rum is a Philippine premium rum from the island of Negros. To this day, Don Papa (Papa Isio) is regarded as one of the few well-known heroes of the Philippine Revolution. But before he joined the fight for the country's independence, he was a simple foreman on a sugar cane plantation. The memory of Don Papa's achievements in the revolution faded over time. But to this day, the harvested sugar cane remains a symbol of his veneration. Don Papa's energy and tireless fighting spirit are in every bottle of this exceptional rum. This rum is produced and distributed exclusively in small batches.
