Nose: barley malt, peat, white pepper, vanilla, cinnamon, juniper wood, cloves, coffee and fruit.

Taste: smoky and full-bodied, with notes of hazelnut, jam and coconut milk.

Finish: pronounced and long-lasting with salty notes, aromas of milk chocolate, green anise and cooked banana.

The PLANTATION Barbados XO Single Cask Rum has a wonderful amber color. Fresh and powerful aromas rise to the nose. Starting with barley malt, accompanied by smoky peat, spicy white pepper and vanilla. Spicy notes of cinnamon, juniper wood and cloves increasingly come to the fore, followed by nuances of freshly roasted coffee and tropical fruit. On the palate, the Barbados Rum is full-bodied and elegant. The smoky and expressive notes of hazelnut and tobacco are followed by sweet facets of butterscotch, jam and coconut milk. The Single Cask ends with a long, dry and pronounced finish, with salty nuances, milk chocolate, green anise and cooked banana. 

The Plantation rums are carefully selected by Ferrand head Alexandre Gabriel in Caribbean countries. They are then transported to France and refined there. 

The rums in the Plantation series differ not only in their origin. Age, alcohol content, and the distillation process make a big difference. Added to this is the selection of cask types, which are used for the partly multiple maturation phases. Ferrand’s Plantation rums therefore offer the perfect conditions for getting to know a wide variety of rums from the most exotic countries. 

The special thing about it is that the rum was additionally finished in Cognac and Mackmyra Rök casks.
