Nose:  intense notes of sherry, with caramel and cream candies, plus hints of chocolate and fruity accents of mango, green apple, and citrus fruits

Palate:  natural sweet notes, creamy touch, caramel, complex fruit notes, subtle tones of smoke and wood. rich aroma of sherry, mild butter toffee. chocolate, fruity character. complex, multilayered, the fruit note is reminiscent of mango and overripe citrus fruits, finishing with green apple.  Fruity taste 

Finish: long and intense

Recommendation Enjoy this special whisky at room temperature or on ice as a digestif, in a cozy gathering, with a cigar. Also pairs well with crème brûlée.

KAVALAN is the traditional name of the Yilan region and its indigenous people. The KAVALAN distillery is located about an hour’s drive southeast of the capital Taipei, in this very region. One of the main reasons for choosing this location is the excellent water quality. Yilan is known far beyond Taiwan’s borders for its numerous natural springs, which provide light and slightly sweet water. Producer Kavalan The KAVALAN distillery is part of the Taiwanese family-owned conglomerate King Car Group, which employs nearly 2500 people and was founded in 1956 by Tian-Tsai Lee. The King Car Group is a family-run company whose president is still the founder himself to this day. The general manager is his eldest son, Yu-Ting Lee, who runs the company in the spirit of his father. For several years now, King Car has earned a significant name in the international whisky world. Opened in 2005, the KAVALAN distillery in the Yilan region is the first privately run independent distillery to produce high-quality single malts that delight connoisseurs all over the world. The Solist Fino is the pride and joy of the KAVALAN distillery and the jewel of the Solist series. This whisky, matured in the finest Fino sherry casks, was named World Whisky of the Year in Jim Murray…s Whisky Bible 2012 and awarded 97 out of 100 points.
